Trulicity Availability

A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭
Owosso, MI

Is anyone else having a problem with their Trulicity prescription? I have been unable to get Trulicity 4.5. I was able to get a 1.5 thru another pharmacy. It is very frustrating. I have been told that it is a national issue and may take several months to overcome.

Same problem with Ozempic availability for the same reason and earlier today I got an email notice that the regular injector pens (Novofine 4mm) which are super popular at least in Canada are expected to be "out of stock" until the END of 2023 because of the incredible demand

For Diabetics that actually need the drug you should talk to your pharmacist since there are "older" versions of both Trulicity and Ozempic out there

Bydureon, Byetta, Victoza and Tanzeum are earlier offerings that have the same active drug, although a couple are a little less desirable - Byetta is a twice a day injection and Victoza is once a day but if you absolutely need the active drug these less desirable versions are unlikely to be in demand by those shooting this stuff for weight loss

Your pharmacist can likely advise on availability and then a call to your Doc for advice or a prescription change may be in order

I’ve been out for about a month. Doctors are prescribing it for weight loss so is diabetics aren’t able to get it

The Trulicity has a supply and demand issue, the demand is greater than the supply.
