Difference Between FreeStyle Libre 2 And ACCU- Chek
Which number is the accurate number. My two hour after meal number for FreeStyle Libra 2 was 200 and my ACCU-Check number was 254? I’m confused.
Thanks @A DiabetesTeam Member
i am a new user of Libre, but i only check with a finger prick if Libre shows low-its 15mins approx behind blood glucose, and often turns out false ,same for highs..If glucose is steady, not a huge difference between accucheck and Libre. As previously said it's trends rather than one off figures that count most..For me,no brainer, libre is preferable. With all its peculiarities. My fingertips have now recovered from the damage inflicted by multiple tests in hospital.
Libre known to be inaccurate in first 24 hrs, should be allowed to acclimatise before using( already have to wait 1 hr but it's not long enough.🐼
Thanks @JohannaCPoirier for video. It’s very helpful and has given me a better understanding
I think both systems have their advantages and disadvantages. It’s best to focus on trends rather than individual results eg if your BGs are trending up then that’s a cause for concern. In any case I go for weekly averages for a better overview of my BGs although I’ve heard that Libre’s Time in Range also gives useful feedback.
