Henry has covered most of the possibilities but for MOST diabetics it's the high blood sugar that is the culprit

Keeping your blood sugar "under 8.0 mmols" (7.8 actually) may alleviate the blurry vision and is the easy place to start - it is directly related to what we stick in our mouths

For me there have been 6 different causes of blurry vision @A DiabetesTeam Member.

1) I needed glasses.

2) glaucoma, high interoccular pressure can cause damage, so I was put on eye drops.

3) My new ophthalmologist told me I had dry eye and needed otc dry eye drops regularly. But I ran out of glaucoma drops 2 weeks previous. My old ophthalmologist retired and his partner was an optomatrist and couldn't prescribe the drops. I had to scramble to get an appointment with a new doctor.

4) high blood glucose numbers. I get blurry vision but it goes away when my number goes above 7.8(140) for 2 meals.

5) low blood glucose numbers, a hypoglycemic event. Less than 4.0(72). It takes days of good numbers for this to clear for me.

6) a bit of dehydration and my vision gets blurry.

That is my experience with blurry vision.
