That's a loaded question.
Are your 2 hour numbers below 7.8(140).
If so then your numbers are controlled overall.
If not, then you still have to cut your carbs a bit each meal.

The A1c test is a more comprehensive measure of your average blood sugar levels over the past few months, rather than just daily readings. The A1c test is a more comprehensive measure of your average blood sugar levels over the past few months, rather than just daily readings. While a reading of 5.0 mmol/L in the morning is a good sign, it doesn't provide the full picture. It's important to monitor your A1c levels to determine overall control of your diabetes. Many physicians advise keeping A1c levels below 7 percent. Consult your doctor for personalized advice.

For more detailed information, you can refer to the following points from the knowledge base:
- A1c Test Importance: The A1c test helps determine average blood sugar levels over the past few months and is crucial for managing diabetes (source: staying-in-control-of-your-diabetes).
- Target A1c Levels: Many physicians recommend keeping A1c levels below 7 percent (source: staying-in-control-of-your-diabetes).
- Daily Blood Sugar Readings: Regular blood sugar tests are important, but they only show current levels, not long-term control (source: blood-sugar-readings-and-diabetes).

Always consult with your healthcare team to interpret your readings and adjust your management plan accordingly.

As Henry notes, loaded question

A 5.0 every morning means your fasting numbers are just perfect

But that is no measure of what you stuff in your mouth during the day - that is NOT reflected in your fasting number and despite a great fasting number, if your post meal numbers are jacked up, you would NOT be controlled at all
