@A DiabetesTeam Member My heart goes out to you. My father died at age 44 from hard-core alcoholism and diabetes complications. I learned that alcohol is a high sugar product and that high sugar often leads to type 2 diabetes. Drinking and diabetes definitely don't go together. I have no personal experience with quitting an alcohol addiction, but know it is possible to do. I did manage to quit a life-long cigarette addiction though 2+ years ago, something I never thought I could possibly do-but did succeed. Do you have access to an addictions center/counseling for the alcohol addiction? In U.S. we have Alcohol Anonymous that helps people quit drinking for free. Is the organization available where you live? Don't give up-I know with smoking it often takes several try's to succeed.
