Unless you are at normal weight, lose some weight

Overweight is the number one trigger - the fact is 80% of Type 2's never would have been diagnosed if they had maintained normal weight - it is that important but it has become such a "hands off subject" that even doctors don't talk about it much

You are 79 years old?

If so I wouldn't even consider being pre-diabetic as anything to be concerned with

As we age an "acceptable" A1C starts to climb and over age 70 an A1C upwards of 8.0 or even 8.5 is of no concern because without getting morbid, it will take longer to develop a serious complication than even a good lifespan

You could be pushing 100 and just start seeing early complications

I am and have always been not large, actually, my average wt is 129 but i gained a few pounds this winter. I am 5 4. no problem with weight size 8 to 10. at times need to gain a little weight i have been told. very active as well. someone asked what is cusp... borderline diabetic as my dr says.
