My Husband Was Prescribed Synjardy Xr In Combination With Ozempac To Control His Blood Sugar. Does He Need To Take Both Of These?
My husband has type two diabetes and high blood pressure and high cholesterol. He was given 4 different medications including the Ozempic and synjardy xr (also, rosuvastatin and valartan) would it be better, in the interest of not taking four new medication starting all at once to choose one of the diabetic treatments and see how it goes before incorporating the other? Curious what anyone elseโs experience has been.
This is extremely helpful. Thank you so much.
Most likely if he was prescribed them
Synjardy is a combination medication (Jardiance and Metformin) that does two different things
The Jardiance part forces the Kidney's to suck extra sugar and salt out of the blood - helps lower blood sugar levels AND reduces heart disease/stroke risk and protects the kidneys
The Metformin part tries to regulate Sugar released by the Liver to help keep fasting blood sugar levels under better control
The Ozempic mimics a hormone that tells his pancreas to release insulin AND tells his brain that he's "full"
The extra insulin helps with blood sugar from what he is eating and if it curbs his appetite he will lose a few pounds
3 drugs, all do something different. And if his A1C was not well controlled then he most certainly needs all of these drugs
What Medicines Other Than Metformin Are Their To Use?
Synjardy And Ozempic Side Effects--is It Worth It?
Can Someone Give Me Suggestions On What's The Best And Worst Oral Medication For Type Two Diabetes. Thank You ๐
