Food can either add blood sugar or not but it can't take any away - food is not a "treatment" for blood sugar

If your question instead is what foods have less effect or no effect on blood sugar that is different

Fats do not effect of blood sugar levels and slow down the uptake of carbohydrates when mixed in a meal

Proteins have minimal to no effect on our blood sugar levels - protein can be converted to blood sugar "if necessary" otherwise it is simply used to build/repair muscle and produce body heat

Carbohydrates which include sugars, starches and fibers are the macronutrient that gets turned into blood sugar

The fibers are indigestible so have no effect, the sugars cause an immediate spike (bad) and the starches cause a sustained spike (worse)

This is where the "don't eat white foods" advice comes from. White Potato, White Bread (Flour), White Rice and White Pasta are loaded with Starches

So you can limit how much sugar you put in your system, but there is nothing you can eat to "lower" the existing sugar
