Thank you for the suggestions. I will have to go the snack route for lunches. Dinner from restaurants isn’t too much of a problem. Getting protein without a sauce or basting it with salad or vegetables is easy.

I try to keep my trips short, so I jampack my days with interviews and meetings. Most days, finding time to eat lunch is impossible. Your snack suggestions are perfect to have on the go. Most days are 12-14 hour workdays, leaving a big gap between breakfast and dinner.

I think you should plan to take a few snacks. You'll feel much better. I'm not a doctor but 12-14 hours a day between meals isn't good for anyone whether you have diabetes or not. I run out of energy if I don't have something available to snack on especially when working.

Oh yes! You still can have a small bag of snacks with you to nibble on. I traveled for work as a sales rep. I'd still pack a few things to snack on- fruit is a great one, a few peanuts or cherries, trail mix with nuts and seeds, hard cooked eggs in the shell. Low carb cheeses. Restaurants can be difficult. For one thing, they're very tempting. I would stick to fish or chicken with no sauces. Salads with chicken in them and oil and vinegar for the dressing. 😃Bacon and eggs. Most places can accommodate if you ask.
Are any of the suggestions going to work for you? Let me know and I'll think harder!

The problem is that when I work away, I stay in B&B’s where I don't have access to kitchen facilities. So I have to rely on restaurants and food from a local shop.

Fruit sliced, carrots sliced, sliced red and green peppers all with a container of hummus, maybe celery stuffed with soft cheeses or peanut butter. Low carb crackers, sliced cooked chicken. a big salad with any of the items I've listed with a small container of dressing. I'm sure I've only skimmed the surface.
