It does sound like low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) as Pat and Henry have suggested

But definitely get to the Doctor

Metformin doesn't usually cause lows but best to get checked because it could be some other hormone imbalance - so an extensive blood panel might identify a "different" reason

Most reasons are more than treatable, but need to know "what" needs fixing first

Additional symptoms of hypo- irritability, feeling of heat,You can get symptoms at any glucose level- it's the speed of the drop that causes them

Absolutely, @A DiabetesTeam Member,
A hypoglycemic event, aka hypo is when your blood glucose goes too low. 3.9 (70 usa)

There is not enough energy to supply all your needs, so your body makes decisions on what it can starve for energy.

So symptoms begin. The list gets long as your blood glucose continues to drop. Towards the end is coma and death.

Did I tell you I hate hypos and would do anything to avoid them.

For me the first sympton is blurred vision. After that enormous thirst and hunger. Then lightheadedness, the shakes, nausea, Irregular heartbeat, and more. So at the very first sign, I treat. Then I fingerstick to see where my numbers are.

Did I tell you that hypos suck.
Talk to your doctor.

Hello. This disease is so complicated that it makes me feel so weird with different symptoms on different days, no matter what! I try to manage it to the best I can. I am on a low carb diet, exercise, keep my weight low and I take 2x metformin per day along with 25 units of insulin, but again I have my bad days. Good luck to you. All those symptoms you mentioned are very common. Sometimes being careless helps and could adjust the sugar levels😉 Thinking too much and stress really messes me up. Hope you feel great every day ❤️
