Just check the sugar count

Very Dry has a count of 0,1 or 2 and a Sweet or Dessert Wine might be in the 20's or higher

That number equates to the equivalent of "how many spoons of sugar in the bottle" - so lower is better so that you can have a "second glass" without jacking your blood sugar 😁

Dry red is better and in moderation like that it should pose no problems, unless other issues preclude the use of alcohol.
