What Is Your Average Morning Waking Up Mmol/L? I Go 3-4 Days With 6.0 To 7.0 And Then Spike To 10 And Low To 5.5. It Varies A Lot
Hey guys it's recommended to eat 1 hour after getting up, it helps with spikes so our livers doesn't dump glucose. Test before eating, and 2 hours after first bite.
My BS tests fairly stable, between 5,6 - 6,8 most days. I have noticed if I am coming down with a bug, like a cold then it tests higher a couple of days before I feel sick. Covid, which I have had more than 5 times really spikes my BS and I see readings of 7-9 usually for around 2 weeks. Even when I feel I am on the recovery it will still be high for a number of days. When it goes to normal between 5-7 then I know I am fine. I am an avid gymer, exercising 6-7 times a week and twice a day most days. When my BS returns to the usual I use that as an indicator that I can hit the gym again hard as I refrain whilst sick.

Part of the morning spikes come from dawn phenomenon, we all do that even non diabetics. The body prepares to wake up and it releases cortisol and growth hormones causing glucose to rise. Are you checking immediately upon waking, or waiting awhile? Just asking, hugs from Joyce.
I check pretty early, about 10 -15 min after I wake up. I suppose I should try it a bit later?
Hi Joyce. I normally test 20-30 mins after waking. Thanks for your input.
