Thanks Graham. Others sources have stated that sugar in urine along with possible yeast could act to ferment to alcohol. Currently I am seeking a PCP and have not been taking insulin prescribed. There is also a purple yeast in one of the medications I am taking for HBP. I truly have not drank alcohol, so I am truly searching for possibilities, or anyone else who may have experienced this. Iam a Machine operator and subject to urinalysis randomly. I have been experiencing a high volume of going to the bathroom and recognize this is a way out body gets rid of sugars. Just trying to figure this out.

@A DiabetesTeam Member it depends whether you are talking about a blood or urine test that show alcohol or a breath test

The breath test is not effected by diabetes itself one way or the other BUT can show a positive in KETO followers (including diabetics that follow a KETO diet) if they are in a state of Ketosis

A blood or urine test for alcohol specifically tests for Ethyl Alcohol and neither Ketosis nor Diabetes would result in a "false positive"

And in the case where your blood sugar was "high" that is about as far away from ketosis as you could be since it's a state where there is effectively "near zero" sugar in your blood and your body is burning fat for energy instead

So if you weren't drinking then the source was "something else"
