Does Anyone Else Take Supplements. I Take Omega 3, D3 And B12. Just Curious.
@A DiabetesTeam Member you are correct and my dietitian is also of that opinion - "we should be able to get all the vitamins, minerals and trace elements we need IF we eat correctly"
The problem is for those that follow low carb, vegetarian or vegan diets it is next impossible to get everything you need from food if you limit carbs (you just can't eat "enough" to get everything in many cases" and in the Vegan/Vegetarian world where you cut out Entire Food Groups it is even more difficult and particularly if you have food sensitivities as well
Because of that, anytime you can't eat "Food Guide" and if you are eating to help manage a chronic condition, we really need to use a Dietitian or Nutritionist (and not Google) to develop a diet that will satisfy our nutritional needs and recommend supplements if necessary

My body doesn't absorb vitamins from foods for some reason, so I have to take supplement.
Milk Thistle, Fiber supplement (Inulin - Chicory Root) that also contains B-12 and Folic Acid
I to take an eye supplement as I have AION in my right eye so monitor left very closely. AION was 4 years prior to diabetes.
I take a multivitamin and my endocrinologist told me to take vitamin B-Complex.
