Just asking, have you tried another meter

Many people would be almost non-functional at 30, much less able to do a blood test - you may have a jiggered meter

@A DiabetesTeam Member is right, at 30 you would be so lacking sugar to the muscles, you can't see or function. Some meters need calibration too
Do you wash and dry hands good before testing?

That morning reading is fairly typical. Anywhere from 30 to 50. And sometimes I don't get a reading at all

This morning when I woke up and took it, it was 32. The highest I've been able to get it in the mornings is 70. I've only been able to get it over 100 after I eat two times. I should say I'm newly diagnosed so this is new to me.
