Eating An Apple
Will a medium sized apple with peanut butter spike your blood sugar?
I slice an apple and two table spoons of peanut butter with it. I eat it during the day not for a noght time snack.
It "shouldn't"
Average (medium) apple is about 20'ish net carbs.
A teaspoon of PB (assuming its natural or no sugar added type) is barely 1/2 a carb, so even 3 or 4 teaspoons would only be a couple more carbs.
Most of us should be able to handle 22 - 25 carbs without issue unless we are somewhat advanced.
Dried fruit may raise your blood sugar as it has concentrated sugar.
It's a safe snack if u make the apple one of ur "5 a day"
Are you wondering if eating an apple is good for diabetes management?
Apples can be a healthy snack for people with diabetes. They are high in fiber, which helps slow down the absorption of sugar and keeps blood glucose levels stable. For a balanced snack, you might consider pairing an apple with a source of protein, like Show Full Answer
