Causes and Risk Factors of Type 2 Diabetes Read Article...

Simply, Type 2 Diabetes is a "metabolic disorder" that describes the condition where your body, that uses "blood sugar" as energy either doesn't produce enough "insulin" (the hormone that allows the sugar to be burned as fuel by the body) OR your own body has become "resistant" to using the insulin you produce (called insulin resistance and it is most effected by your body weight - being overweight makes you 80 times more likely to become diabetic in the first place - losing enough weight to get to normal makes managing the condition considerably easier and is the best thing you can do for yourself - this isn't about body image or how you look dressed up - your body has "rebelled" and told you it is "not ok for YOU to be overweight")

That leads to excess blood sugar floating around our system which not only leaves us with less energy due to lack of (fuel), but high blood sugar levels cause major damage to our vascular system (veins and arteries) which can lead to a whole host of really nasty complications

The symptoms of it vary quite a bit from person to person. In fact about 30% of people who have Type 2 are undiagnosed and they have no idea they have diabetes at all (or they pass off how they are feeling as something else)

The major symptoms initially are -

Fatigue, blurry vision, thirsty all the time, tired, frequent urination, slow healing of cuts/wounds

If the diabetes progresses, goes untreated, ignored, not treated well enough for control then the really nasty stuff sets in - with most of them being life ending at their end stages - but if you are newly diagnosed you are at least 10 years away from any of them

But only if you get control of it "now"

I had a nasty fall Dec. 20th. went to the hospital and found out I broke my hip. I spent 9 day’s in the hospital, until they released me into my husbands care. My issues are getting worst, not being able to get around like before. So I feel like I’m not getting enough exercise. I know I have to walk around and wear off my blood sugar. Any idea’s how to get moving would be very helpful. Thanks
