I Have Been Reading About How Important Magnesium Is To Diabetics. Does Anyone Know How To Determine The Amount Of Magnesium Is Needed?
If you are not on ACE Inhibitors a class of Blood Pressure Meds then you may want to try a potassium supplement which helps with cramps (also great for the kidneys)

Thanks Graham. I get cramps from the Statin I take. It was suggested I take m
Magnesium. I have been taking 250 mgs. I still get cramps.
@A DiabetesTeam Member the only study I have read where it was used as a supplement for diabetics to (help) with blood sugar regulation dosed at 250 mg/day with magnesium gluconate (there is about a half dozen magnesium supplements out there so have to read the label to see what "kind" is in the bottle
But as always, your levels can be tested in a routine blood test (same time/same blood as an A1C test for example) - an RBC test or Serum Magnesium test will show magnesium deficiency which may require a higher supplement rate, so do ask your Doc next time you are having blood work done to add the test
