What Causes Swelling In Body

A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question πŸ’
Johannesburg, ZA

Good day everyone,
I have been a type 1 diabetic for 30 years now and have high blood pressure and cholesterol. I have been in hospital in Feb and they tested my kidneys and heart.. everything looks fine. Drs were not concerned.. been discharged and everything went good.. now my swelling started again 2 days ago again with nothing that changed since Feb. What can i do for the swelling and what can the cause possibly be?

I also thought it might be my high blood pressure tablets. So i will most definitely see the dr to change my meds. Thank you so much for the advise

Hello Bonnie

My husband is on 2 different high blood pressure meds and although fine for a number of years, his ankles started to swell badly.

Our GP changed his BP tabs and the swelling subsided almost within a day.
That was over a year ago and he still has no swelling on the 2 different BP meds
