What Is Your Go To Solution When You’re Having Trouble Sleeping.

A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭
Bronx, NY

Lately I have been having trouble falling asleep 😴 and staying asleep.
Is there a diabetic cocoa out there; because regular cocoa send my Dexcom sensor into screaming 😱 mode ( blood sugar raises really fast, even with the no sugar cocoa.)
I have explained to my health care team and for me pills are not an option ( already done and after effect ☹️)
I sometimes listen to sleep sounds, meditation for sleep 😴
But I thought I would ask here for some help.
Thanks 🙏🏽 in advance 🤗

When my Bride is blessed with sporadic sleep. She falls asleep as soon as the sun comes up.

Hello Patricia
My wise Doctor told me that deprivation of sleep leads to many complications and thankfully, he has prescribed a mild sleeping tablet for me.
I’m not worried if I become addictive to them, because they are mild and gives me 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep. ❤️

For me that is a process.

1) I increase my phyical activity outside. Baby steps.

2) Sip 1 liter water.
Eat a light meal. Baby steps.

3) I shut all lights, screens, and sounds down. Baby steps.

4) Increase the temperature by 3-4f or 1-2c. A little warm milk can help. Baby steps.

5) Pray or meditate. Baby steps.

6) Clear my mind. Baby steps.

7) Close my eyes and lay in bed. It's rest weather or not I fall asleep quickly. Baby steps.

This is what works for me.

My Bride takes melatonin.
I sometimes do camomile-tea / tisane.

Good luck.
