What Is The "correct" Times To Do A Test?

A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭
Roodepoort, Gauteng

I do my first FBG around 7am and my evening test 2 hours after dinner. The FBG is around 6 to upper 7's. The evening is between 9 and 11. As I'm very new to all this, I go through what I've eaten during the day and "finding" the culprits lol. Also, some times i found an urge for a snack between meals. I try to snack healthy. I luckely dont have a sweet tooth, so sweets is not the problem. I sometimes think just because i now have to be careful what i eat, I'm constantly just want to… read more

How Do You Stay On Track While Traveling?

A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭
Ogdensburg, NY

We are leaving very early Saturday morning with my parents to go to Indiana to visit my brother, sister-in-law and nieces for Easter. I know we will be eating out and maybe at the hotel or at fast food places. We're planning to stay a week as my mom has a break from work as she works at an elementary school and it just happened to coincide with my nieces' spring break.

My Fasting Numbers Are High. How Can I Bring Them Down?

A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭
Houston, TX

I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic. My fasting numbers are in the range of 107-115 when I first wake up. If I don't eat right away they tend to go up. Highest was 125. My problem is my dr takes my fasting number over my A1c which is 5.4-5.6. I am on no medication. During the day my numbers are ok. I know about dawn phenomenon. I'm guessing that what it is but not sure what to do about it? 🤔

A DiabetesTeam Member
